  We went in the "First and Last" a couple of years ago, well after the ban. They were all smoking including the landlord. We were ushered into a corner and asked if we would be smoking. When we said "No" we were led to a grotty corner at the back. We felt very welcome as you can imagine. He later quizzed us about whether we would be reporting him. We had no intention of reporting him, but we never went back, no surprise there.
  It is a trend in failing pubs, I think, to pander to the remaining locals, alienate everybody else and the rest is history.
