Three students go out to dinner in celebration of the ending of their examinations.
Their meal costs, in total, £25.00
They each put £10 into the pot.
The waiter divines that £5 is hard to split into three, so pockets £2.
The students then have each paid £9 (3x9=27), the waiter has £2 (2+27=...)
Where has the other pound gone?

If that is how we are to be...
35p per can. 24 cans per case = £8.40.
Special offer, a case (of 24 cans) for £8.00 a saving of 0.6p per can....form an orderly queue.
So really it's more of an English comprehension problem...all round.

Tom there is no missing pound.
The students each paid £9 for a total of £27, of which £25 went into the till and £2 into the waiter's tips box.

I was in Asda today and saw a certain product advertised as £2.50 each or 3 for a tenner!! I only wanted one fortunately

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

An old barrel weighing 5Kg is filled full of something and now weighs 2Kg.
What, o what might it have been filled with?

Over a period of months, in Morrisons you could get 2 litres of pure orange juice with bits and not from concentrate for £2.78, and 1 litre of exactly the same for £1.
The expiery date was the same in both cases.
They found out at some point, and the 1 litre package went up to £1.48.
