  I was also a responsible dog owner and always, without fail, "scooped" - but I recall once when walking our old greyhound by the seafront - on his lead - that I stopped to talk to someone and he did the business while I was looking the other way. Had I been given the 30 seconds it would have taken me to turn around and notice and then scoop I would have done so, but instead a group of middle aged respectable looking people instantly unleashed a barrage of anti-dog abuse at me for failing to pick up. Nasty and unnecessary. So yes, please do not assume or lump us all together with the irresponsible ones.
