Why on earth did the teacher not ask for Grandads full name? Even worse, the GP should have checked too.

what i can't work out is why does a parent send someone apparently senile to collect a child from school.

Same here Peter and Judith, it makes me wonder how often the grandfather and grandchild see each other, obviously not very often.
Having said that I would like to think my great-grandaughter that I only see half a dozen times a year would recognise me I know I would know her instantly.
