Please can anyone help one of our lifeboat crew, his dog has gone missing. It is i shiny black Labrador, he is two years old, neutered, quite stocky, he has a collar and tag on and is micro chipped, he was frightened on Thursday night by someone, and did a runner, he is quite a nervy dog, last known definite sighting was 08.30 on Thursday morning out at River He is probably quite hungry by now so may be tempted by food, He answers to the name of Bertie, if any one has seen him can you ring either John on 07971 333335 or myself on 07921 253996 or pop into the shop Jollyes and ask for Elaine thanks in anticipation Humphy.

I have sent a text to my daughter who lives in River so the family will keep an eye out. I hope Bertie is soon found.

although we have a good description of bertie, a photo would help a lot.
it maybe that he is safely home but if not a pic here tends to tug at the heart strings and encourage people to make more effort.

As you know we are out at river so will also keep Eyes open.
On my way home this evening there was a dog matching this description running down Barton Road against the traffic. I couldn't stop and it wouldn't have helped as the dog would have been gone before I had stopped, so I drove back roundvia the London Road and then back up the road again and round the side roads but I couldn't see him. That was about 5.45.this evening. I am sorry I can't be more help chaps.

Well publicised on Radio Kent this morning with various sighting locations, the more people looking the better.

He described it as the cobbled street area? seems sighted near Morrisons before that, must be in a state of panic Howard. Radio said the owner was out on the lifeboat someone let the dog out of the car to stretch his legs and it stretched them too much and ran off.

seems he is unlikely to get too close to anyone in order to be rounded up.
still have my old dog lead, will take it with me when i go out in a few minutes, you never know.

As there has been no news I assume he is still free, I do hope he is found soon.
