Vince is definitely popular with the grassy roots of Liberalism. Uncle Vince they call him in affectionate tones. He was popular with the public too and always went down well on TV, especially on programmes like Question Time and so on. But that was before the last election fiasco, promise one thing and deliver another, it has tainted the lIbdems bigtime, many in the ranks are rumbling and grumbling that they neeed a new leader as brand Clegg is tarnished forever.

But I somehow cant see Vince as a leader, a good number two man perhaps, but leader i dont know... would he set the elctorate alight??.. they already had one older geezer as leader in Menzies Campbell..a nice guy but too old for the modern era where TV affability is all, and he wasnt a success.

Problem is...quality leaders are thin on the ground not just for libdems but in all parties.
