I think the Chancellor was booed more specifically because it was the Paralympic crowd and a very large number of those present have been, or know someone who has been, adversely affected by the Government's changes to disability benefit qualification assessments. Also, the Government has been closing down factories that were specifically designed to provide work for the disabled, so no surprises whatsoever that he was booed by the Paralymic crowd. His appearance presenting medals to athletes representing a segment of society that the Government is more particularly identified as 'robbing' was almost certainly going to cause a bit more than raised eyebrows.

At least that crowd had a specific reason for booing him, what reason, other than pure unpopularity, have other politicians got for being in receipt of similar disapprobation?
