The Crabble Corn Mill store room in the cottages was broken into last night with electrical tools and equipment stolen, plus hand tools around £3.000 in total value to replace..
We have lost commercial drills, strimmers, hedge trimmers, saws and a lot more. Most of them are marked so if you see anyone offering tools on the cheap please let the police know.

There's scum out there that will nick anything Harry. They have no regard at all for other's property.

Couldn't agree more with Terry and Martin.
AH's is a good description of them.
Everyone knows that Crabble Corn Mill is a charity run by volunteers; can't believe some people can you ?
I am so sorry Harry - hope the Police catch these mindless toe-rags.

Harry, we are really sorry. You're a good hard-working bunch of people keeping a beautiful building open and accessible to us all. Exactly why is it that some people find this impossible to appreciate, with their counterfeit notes and their thieving?
The WHPS suffered thefts the same. What kind of reward is that for good volunteers, who give up their time for the benefit of their community? What kind of message does it send out .... just don't bother? Not good.
We're so very sorry.

Have to say the police have been very good and got there soon after we discovered the theft. Not sure if they will get anyone though but you never know most of the equipment stolen is well marked.
They are total low life and have no regard for the effort people put into keeping this mill going. I also understand there has been a spate of thefts around River in the last week or so with equipment thefts from residents garages.

shocked but not surprised, police have been issuing warnings for some time about thefts from garages, sheds and outbuildings.
unfortunately there is only so much you can do to protect these buildings, good to hear that the missing stuff is marked, will help the police track the items.

Sorry to hear that Harry - as Maggie mentioned WHPS had over £1000 of equipment stolen last year, very frustrating that people target struggling groups

Been nice knowing you :)

Scum of the Earth.
Sorry to hear that Harry, If it is of any use to you I would like to donate a circular saw to the mill.

Thank you so much Ian that would be great. We are insured and I hope to get some of the cost back that way but there are some items we can not replace as they are tools connected to the mill and are very old. Still you never know that may be there downfall, that an the fact that tools are marked.
Thank you one and all for your kind words.

Disgusted to hear this. Hope someone they know has a little intelligence and reads the forum, informs the toe rags the tools are marked and dumps them somewhere obvious.

Keep an eye on Ebay, Gumshoe etc and auction houses for those specialist items Harry, I really hope you find them as they are irreplaceable.
