As you all know I'm no computer boff, my two boys use computers as I do recently we have found that although the 3 of us are on the wireless system lately only 2 can actually get on line.
As a real novice, does anyone know if I can overcome this?

Keith,
Have you checked your router setup? It might have a field limiting the number of wireless clients it can accept. The ip will probably be 192.168.1.1 or similar

Keith, I'm not much of an expert on wireless as I don't use it, but I think you can buy USB dongles which can pick up wireless. As far as I know, you can have unlimited numbers of these dongles (ie one in every computer) and this should allow the wireless signal to serve every machine you own.
I'm sure somebody may come on and correct me but as far as I know this is sort of correct!!

Since one of my girls opened my laptop screeen fully, the screen rarely comes on, any ideas out there of how to rectify this problem.

I wonder if one of the two connecting cables has been stretched across the hinge causing a plug to come loose? When I bought my last laptop, a Dell Inspiron, it went wrong after a few months. The picture kept flickering and disappearing. I found that applying pressure to the frame at the top centre of the screen would restore it. I got onto Dell and they sent me a replacement screen under guarantee. When I replaced it, I discovered that the video/data cable linking the screen to the output socket at the top centre of the keyboard ran up the back of the screen and plugged in at the top. Therefore I suspect that all that was wrong was that the plug had come loose where it plugged into the socket at the top of the screen. If your problem is similar, then I would suggest that you dismantle the screen according to the instructions below and check that the plug connections at both ends of the video/data cable and the one on the inverter cable which supplies the power for the screen are all secure. It does sound as though this is what it might be although it could be that one of the cables has been stretched and damaged. Dismantling requires taking out quite a lot of tiny screws and carefully disengaging the plastic screen frame surround bezel. It looks a bit daunting but it is not that difficult. Courage, mon brave.

I followed the sound advice given by Ed, and had fun removing said screws etc and even more fun putting the lovely little darlings back into place

Unfortunately the problem is still there, so I will have to seek the help of a professional to try and rectify the problem. Thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear that, Barry. Oh well, it was worth a try. The laptop I referred to above is now down in Valparaiso. I gave it to my brother-in-laws's young Chilean son when he visited recently and he is well chuffed. Sitting here knocking this out on my shiny new one.
A word of warning to laptop users. Don't rest them on the carpet or you can block off the cooling air to the processor. They should always be on a hard surface as I learned to my cost. It is even recommended not to rest a laptop on your lap!
