    I think if introduced the chips will encourage more members of the public to report poohing pooches as the police WILL be able to bring charges or confiscation orders should the dog accused not be chipped. So if they can't do 'em for *hitting they can do 'em for not chipping.

    Also I get sick and tired of walking around supermarkets seeing parents buying the best pedigree chum for the mutt whilst hunting around for economy baked beans section for the kids. If we treated kids with the same love and attention lavished on cats and dogs maybe society would be in better shape?
