Here's part of the Wacko Jacko mystery solved, below, which is puzzling BBC South East today...
Michael Jackson took a huge entourage across the Channel from Dover in the late '80s (possibly early '90s), en route to concerts in France. He travelled on either P&O's Pride of Dover or Pride of Calais, with a big national and local press contingent in tow (including the late, great East Kent Mercury snapper Basil Kidd!).
The black and white photo in question was published in full colour on the front of Eddie Shah's ill-fated Today newspaper.
While on board the ship, Jacko apparently went off and practiced his dance moves in a private conference room.
Terry Sutton will no doubt remember the event, as will Chris Laming and Brian Rees at P&O, who I'd imagine will be able to identify the captain shaking hands with the doomed King of Pop.
Bubbles was unavailable for comment at time of going to press.
