Hi Andy,
Did you ever find the car that hit your wife?
Today I saw a car answering your description I think, so can email you details if you want? Better not put them on here for obvious reasons.
Will wait for your reply.
Jacqui
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Jacqui
Thank you very much. A gentleman from Whitfield did pass on details of a car matching the description of the one that hit my wife's, which I passed on to the Police. We got a phone call a few days later saying that the car had been traced and the owner spoken to; for reasons of lack of evidence no further action was to be taken, but a record has been put against the registered keeper of the car so that any further reports will have this taken into consideration.
Just as a matter of interest, the car is coming out of the repairers tomorrow. It was a touch and go thing, but the insurers decided not to write it off, which was a major relief. Apparently there was less than £150 between the value of the repairs and the value of the car - a close call. Then, as Sod's law would have it, the rear windscreen broke when being replaced today - and if the screen had been smashed in the accident, the car would have been written off!
Thanks, Jacqui, for keeping an out, that is very kind of you, and if I may say so typical of the response we have received from members of this forum to this accident.
True friends stab you in the front.
