Yes I saw this item on the news yesterday and thought it would make a good item for the forum so Rick was on the ball there. A woman with peculiar coloured reddish hair, enhanced by chemical means with the help of Loreal or some such, has three red haired kids who have what they have... naturally.
This woman felt that this card would NOT have appeared if it depicted Muslims or Black people or any religion...but redheads are people too...thought she.
Its a very light joke but Tesco fearful of mass people backlash have removed it from every one of their stores in the UK, however the card is still availbale in independant shops.
Public opinion is a more powerful tool than ever before. It is a new wave of might. Weve seen it in operation against MP's over their expenses for example, this new power once harnessed is a fearful tool. Ive never seen it harnessed with such dynamism in all my years. Large organisations are afraid of it..yes even the giant Tesco.
But will this new power be used wisely, we have seen recently a massive backlash against the Marks and Spencer Christmas advert when Life in Mars star ( Inspector Hunt 1970's fictional policeman) ogled the girls in their underwear saying something like " good its that time of the year when we can look at the girls frollicking in their undies!" or words close to that..wow! such a backlash over that one, but silly...a response no doubt from a section of acidic wimmin.
