  Seeing the word equerry reminds me of an incident a couple of years back in Capel when a new state of the art play area was being opened. All the dignitaries were there including Sue as District Council Chairman who was chatting to a lady that was also wearing a chain. Later we were both standing at the tea counter and I said love the bling, Argos is it? to which she gave a thin smile. Not long after an unveiling of something or other was happening and the announcer said something like representative of the High Lieutenant of Kent and amongst other things Equerry to Her Majesty the Queen!! Needless to say I looked around for a hole to hide in before being dragged to the tower.
