You might remember a brace of pictures we took a while back when suddenly without warning one evening the Bishop himself and the full body of DDC/ DTC officialdom descended on the little seafront garden for a ceremonial and memorial planting. It was back in March.
As you can see the garden was barren then as Bishop Wilmott leaned down to consecrate/bless the soil. It is now in full bloom. I meant to get some pictures of it last week when I noticed the blooms but never got round to it. Since then the unseasonal high winds have given the white rose garden a bit of a severe battering and some blooms were lost, but it is still hanging on well.
What a change above...as nature does its gentle thing.
More in a minute....yep here we are...
The surrounding plants in full glorious colour as a contrast to the plain white memorials. What the garden badly needs though is a plaque denoting what it stands for. There is no marking.
The memorial is to the Herald of Free Enterprise..to my shame I had forgotten, just had to look it up.
