Ramsgate was also the base for units involved in the operation so it is equally relevant to them, Jan. Dover being the narrowest point in the Channel, therefore the closest point to the German ships in the dash, with them within 'eyeball' and artillery range makes it just as pertinent and the Zeebrugge raid in WW1 and other WW2 actions in the Channel.
