Paul has been very helpful to us here on Doverforum on several occasions in recent times...he is easy to talk to and will be interested to hear from anyone with concerns on any Police issue.

- 2 April 2012 08:12162829Agreed - but I would add that it has been good to see him as a presence in the town the last couple of times I have ventured out. But it would be good to try to capture more of the population and choose a few different times.
- 2 April 2012 08:37162833The local Police have done the Neighbourhood Forum meetings several times in the near recent past ( in conjuction with other services), these take place in the evenings so all bases have been covered, but the turnout for all those Neighbourhood Forums seems to have dipped away in recent times. This I suspect is a new approach. I dont remember there ever being a "surgery" before so hopefully it will go well and then there will be more.

- 2 April 2012 09:58162850The police are having to try every which way to engage the public, but I agree SarahP not all will be able go along and talk to Paul, but I hope in by letting them use the Bandstand in Pencester, that they will hopefully get a good response.
I know Paul is very keen to try any new approach so hopefully it will work and people will stop and take time to talk to him.

It is usually busy around Pencester at that time of day betyween 11.30am and 1.30pm, so he is in a good spot to capture some of the populace going about their daily chores. Getting out there to meet the people has to be the way.

had an interesting chat with paul, he is clearly committed to his job and explained about crime prevention. the three were giving out leaflets on the issue to anyone that stopped by.
