Information about this year's Christmas card competition from Dover Town Council...
---------------------------
The Town Mayor, Councillor Mrs Anne Smith, is inviting residents of Dover to design her 2012 Christmas card which will be distributed for the festive season.
The competition is open to all ages with the winning design being digitally produced as The Town Mayor of Dover's Christmas card for 2012. The designer of the winning card will receive a gift token to the value of £25 and the two runners up £10 each. There will be a presentation and press release.
The design, with the theme 'Dover's Winter Wonderland', should be on an A4 sheet of paper, either portrait or landscape. Please do no use glitter, gold or silver pens as they will not reproduce.
The completed design should be sent to Dover Town Council Offices at Maison Dieu House, Biggin Street, Dover CT16 1DW for the attention of the Secretary to the Town Mayor, Lynda Friend. Please print your name, address, telephone number and your age clearly on another sheet of paper and attach it to your entry. Do no write anything directly on the back of the design or staple anything to it as this may affect the printing process.
The closing date for the competition is Wednesday, 31st October, and will be judged by the Town Mayor of Dover, the Deputy Mayor of Dover and a representative from the printers who will reproduce the winning design on a card. Entrants are advised that by entering the competition they agree to the reproduction of their card, if they are the lucky winner, and Dover Town Council will own the copyright. Please note that the Mayor is unable to return entries.

I see a sea of scrunched-up wrapping paper with naked feet protruding here and there. Gifts bestrewn and a tree full of children sheltering from the weather.
With 'Merry Christmas' crossed out and replaced with 'Welcome'. To read, "Welcome to the UK"
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

I will have to get designing straight away but I do object to having to put my age on the back.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
