13:3887491Ye gods Alan, I don`t worry about government, I let them get on with it that`s their job to worry if they wish. I don`t want to push any button, too much `real` life to enjoy mate.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

13:3987493The Mayan Doomsday Prophecy is apparently based on a calendar which hasn't been designed to calculate dates beyond 2012. When a calendar comes to the end of a cycle (year), it rolls over onto the next year i.e. 31st December is followed by 1st January and not the end of the world. 13.0.0.0.0 in the Mayan calendar will be followed by 0.0.0.0.1. Better not cancel the Christmas shopping on 22nd December 2012!!

13:3987494there are more things to concern ourselves with than the end of the world.

14:3387516I wouldn't worry about it Melissa. Religions, cultists, prophets, loonies, astrologers, fringe groups and other deluded fruitballs have been been predicting the imminent end of the world since time immemorial, often for their own vested interests. Unless the Mayans had access to a TARDIS I wouldn't pin any weight whatsoever on it.
BANG! Oh bum....I was wrong...

14:4287520NASA just held a conference to declare 2012 the worst Sci Fi film of all time (with The Core close behind) obviously forgetting that the 'Fi' stands for FICTION. They objected to the made-up science added on to give a reason for the end of the world. They did not comment on the planet X usually given as the reason for the end in countless readings of that prophecy.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

16:4287548It's not when we die but how we live that matters. End of the world? I fart in its general direction...........
Forgive that.........just a little high spirited I guess......

22:0287646if it were true what would you do?
Rush to the supermarket to stock up just in case it was wrong?
Nip down the cash point machine - in case there is no electricity and of course we will need a few quid for essentials wont we?
Put your head between your legs and kiss you **** goodbye?
I mean seriously what would you do?

22:3187650I think a large party for 21st December 2012 is in order. If it doesn't happen you have not wasted your time worrying and if it does you go out drunk and surrounded by friends.
Remember the end of the world has also been predicted for 1000 AD, 1914 AD, 1999AD and 2000AD, as well as quite a few dates in between.

08:2487662This thread reminds me of the men with sandwich boards I used to see as a child stating 'the end of the world is nigh'. I thought it was rubbish then and I still do.
