I don't know why you keep on about the District Council being irresponsible with the ratepayers £1 million invested in the Iceland Bank.

It has been said many times that when it was invested, the Government of the day (Labour) said it was a sound bank to invest in and local government have to abide by government guidelines and that's exactly what DDC did.

It was a perfectly sound investment - until it went tits-up.

It has been shown time and time again that Labour, whether National or Local Government, are incompetant at financial restraint or fiscal competancy - both very much in evidence in recent years, so nothing has changed.

If Labour are re-elected this Thursday, you can bet your bottom dollar (see £) there will be waste and overspend on a truly grand scale and as it has been said, if Red Ed takes away the cap on council rates, they'll go sky high too.

On dog-poo, it's not a matter of introducing loads more dog-wardens, it's giving appropriate people - the enforcement officers, the powers to fine irresponsible dog-owners (and other abilities too); PCSOs to do the same and the street-cleaners to clean properly and that includes picking up dog-poo, which I have already asked about.

    Different thinking, not increased costing.
