I have a red leaflet that goes on about the National Government - we are local Government; we didn't keep going on about the National Labour Government at local election time, we deal with what we have.
Your leaflet goes on about inefficiency and waste, there has been no inefficiency or waste.
There is no smashing of local services.
There is no removal of services from vulnerable people.
It's just full of scare-stories and what to me, are lies - are lies a matter of opinion or a matter of fact.
If the Director of Finance says we have had balanced budgets for the last 3 years, are you calling him a liar ?
No one is giving up Keith, I simply don't believe that senior Conservatives have told you that, there is no need for us to think or say that; there is no hint that we are about to lose, none whatsoever.
There is no desperation, no sinking ship, just a bouyant feeling that the Conservatives will once again be running the administration, but as we all know, the electorate decide and I hope they won't be taken in by the nonsense in the red leaflets.
There are small pockets where we don't have the majority support, but there are other pockets where we have very strong support and that has always been the case.
