'Bingo!' - or rather 'Tombula!'
Dover has been twinned with Split since 1956. May 7th is St Domnius Day, when the patron protector of Split is celebrated by the whole town having a holiday, with a procession to the cathedral of Emperor Diocletian being followed by celebrations including brass bands, a craft fair, races in the harbour and other merriments.
Dover Tales have started some cultural exchanges with Split, supported by Dover Mayor Chris Precious. Tomorrow as a small acknowledgement of the twinning Eythorne Silver Band will be playing at/from the yacht club depending on the weather while a harbour race is on-going, with some other small commemorations in the club. Hopefully this event will grow into something bigger in future years.
The postcode clue takes you to Marjan Close, named after Marjan Heights, a nature reserve that overlooks Split in the same our Western Heights overlook the town.
