I have a thought on this that says that it shouldn't be the total responsibility of DDC/DTC, but some financial involvelment by the local businesses.
I appreciate that they may feel they pay enough rent and rates, but to be honest, neither of these are the responsibility (or benefit) of either council. Yes I know DDC get a small percentage back from central government.
I'm sure all businesses here would benefit by having a smarter, cleaner, more welcoming Town; more people would come here to shop so it would benefit everyone.
I didn't get the opportunity to bring my projects and initiatives to fruition as I am no longer the Dover Business Support Manager for the Channel Chamber of Commerce, so there is no one the businesses can turn to for any kind of support, nor anyone to put into place any initiatives that will help the Town move forward, or change Dover from a "to-it-and-through-it" Town to being a destination.
