Fair point Howard. But I dare say it takes more than a chat, admittedly that's how a trusted relationship starts but it needs to be followed up. I was thinking along the lines of volunteers "taking on" 1or 2 homeless persons each to help them further by concentrating on them and their problems. The homeless will soon spread the advice around to others in a like situation. But they are individuals with different backgrounds and who better than those with access to all the information and a foot in the door, like Cllrs? Initially surely public facilities like toilets and showers on a 24 hr basis is a priority. Maybe the toilets on the seafront which are closed for 6 months could be a start? 6 months of making money from the public, then an equal time, giving back to the public.
