We arrived back from Borocay safe and sound. The flight to borocay was on a 4 prop dornier...its a short runway said the flight attendant so we have to break quickly...he wasnt joking...bloody hell only just made it before going into the sea.We were then ushered to a ferry terminal to await a shuttle to our hotel. You will not believe it until you see the photos of our boat that Frankie took...The hotel was super and only yards from the main beach.I had to attend a live concert featuring the sponge colours..a well known pop band over here while Frankie was off chasing the local talent.I had a great night and got to meet the band who were being mobbed by all the girls..lucky devils...whilst I sat there looking like some elderly father. All the drinks for about 6 hours came to no more than 8 quid..and that included food.It was hot so the following day we hired a boat to take us on a tour of the island...my God its fantastic..photos to follow.
We are now back in Manila after arriving back and flying thru a storm..the Captain apologised for the rough ride but in comparison with the rest of this trip.it was easy.
Love to Marites and Natascha and thanks to all you forumites for your kind comments.PaulB you are a star.

I loved the remark someone made earlier..I think it was Jeane..who said Marek was our very own version of Indiana Jones. How true that is.
Marek as you are out of immediate circulation you may not know that the latest hot Indiana Jones movie has just been shown in Europe to much media attention, so you are right on the pace with the adventure stories.

Thanks PaulB and Jeane it has been one hell of an adventure.Frankie was taken to the Doctors today as he decided to spend a romantic nite on the beach with a new friend. He is now covered in bites which definitely have not derived from her.Being a good Catholic I was tucked up in bed...by myself and a couple of beers. He is recovering but his legs look like hell.Tried to change some cash today but a bullseye (50 quid )is as about as welcome as a Richard the Third in a swimming bath.Dutchie is back in Holland and licking his wounds.Frankie meanwhile is still on full throttle and enjoying himself.I hope to be at the party in Dover on 31 May and in the divorce court the following day....hehe....Marites will kill me when I get home...if the taxi drivers dont kill me first.Got some great photos which I will email to PaulB..right time for a beer....cheerio

Hi there Marek, have been off line for a few days now due to a very bad attack of a gastric bug but all well again so just catching up on your terrific news diary. Yes I am looking forward to seeing you and the family at Paul's birthday bash. Weather permitting we will be in the White Horse garden. You offered to bring one of your cracking dishes of grub along so if you have the time that would be good but no worries if you cant. Have a safe trip back

Hi Marek (Our man in Manilla), you had me rolling around with laughter with the image of Frankie's swollen (legs) chasing all the local talent in Manilla. I hope you can get back in time for Paul's Birthday Bash, Safe Home

i am getting this picture of marek wearing a pith(yess pith) helmet, kkaki shorts ala eric morecambe, stiff upper lip, though covered in mosquito bites standing proudly next to a union flag.
i reckon the next bulletin we will get will be about him leaving the tent and uttering the words "i am going, i may be some time".
who wants to start of the whip round?

You've got it right with the pith helmet and shorts, but I picture him singing 'Whispering Grass' whilst battling in the jungle

that takes me back baz, it was someone called don something or other that sang it.
great comedy, i always remember the lads watching a snake charmer, who was hypnotising them to think they were watching all sorts of antics from the serpent.
lofty, who was too short, was below eye level and kept saying what he actually saw.
