No-one is going to build a cargo hub so far from the places the cargo needs to get to and so badly served by both rail and road.
This is why Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal is in errr Daventry in the middle of the country and connected to motorway system.
EMA would be a much better choice for expansion or any of the other Midlands airports.

As I've said before IF you were looking to open up an airport for freight you would not chose a site with two lane access (M2) to the rest of the country and a rail track profile limiting freight rolling stock size.
In spite of the pandemic in November, East Midlands Airport (EMA) processed its highest number of goods in a month at 41,613 tonnes, a 26.4% increase on last year.
Meanwhile, the nearby East Midlands Gateway hub, which opened in January 2020, has so far transported 30,000 containers by rail - more than expected.

And yet the Guvmnt were sending up to 8,000 containers on wheels a week to Manston since Christmas
