  It is sad that some people seem to sadistically enjoy inflicting cruelty on others, and anyone who is very young, old, or has some kind of illness or disability is an easier target. The people in this terrible case are the lowest of the low but you don't have to do something this dreadful to harm a vulnerable person.
  
  Some of the worst sorts are those who cultivate a public image of being a nice, caring person but quietly stick the knife in whenever the opportunity arises or whenever they think they can get away with it.
