This is really so awful for all the passengers and their relatives. 9 Brits on board and over 150 Dutch and lots of Australians and many others.
Not sure what "they" will do when it is clear who shot it down.

Lots of AIDS experts on board.
Putin saying it is Ukraine's responsibility because it is their territory should win a n award for disingenuousness if it was shot down by Russian rebels, no doubt funded by Putin.
Sounds like tacit admission to me.

A very difficult one Andrew - and a painful one too. I can't see anyone admitting they did it.

This is an awful avoidable tragedy and until proved otherwise, in my mind there is only one country possible to blame and that is Russia as they provided the weapons.

Russia has previous form when it comes to downing civilian aircraft.

Indeed and Putin has proved himself to be a cold fish once again.
80 children died on that flight and who can forget him turning down expert help in saving the crew of that submarine many years ago.
his bland pass the buck comments have revolted world opinion but nothing will be done to stop his antics.

Gets worse with investigators being hampered and crucial evidence lost, not one Russian newspaper gave front page coverage of the tragedy.

Well, with the bodies being robbed and black boxes being interfered with and other aspects being disturbed, maybe your right Vic.
Putin wouldn't be too happy though.

If there had been a majority of USA citizens on board, Obama would have had god knows how many Black Hawk or other helicopters onsite within hours and sealed the site - come what may!
But as there's not, he does nothing - his original statement on the disaster lasted just 50 seconds; American foreign policy is a disaster, just like their President.

I'm sure you're right, but with Russia now blaming the Kiev Government (who don't have the capability to shoot down a plane that's over 30,000 feet high), it doesn't help at all.
The pro-russian supporters don't appear to care a fig about those who have died or their families, they just want to disturb the area and remove any evidence. It was shown on the TV yesterday the BUK rocket-launcher leaving the area and going back to Russia.

Freezing the assets of Russian billionaires might have some effect on Putin, cannot see anything else working.

Nick Clegg has pushed for Russia to lose hosting the World Cup in 2018, that could work wonders as Putin up until know has the support of the general public.
