This started about 4 years ago when I was a Cllr, in 2018 500 walkers will be walking 100 miles is 48 hours. The will register in Dover DYRMS and bus them to Hastings. The walk is being organised by the Long Distance Walking Association. Not only will the walkers from all over the Country be heading for Dover but some will stay some of the week before and there will be supporters and marshals.
The walk will be starting on spring Bank Holiday weekend, this should be a Major Event for Dover and will have a big effect on accommodation, places to eat and drink. From Hastings they will be walking to Dover via Winchelsea Rye Tenterden then back to Folkestone Dover then to Sandwich and back to Dover.
As I said 500 walkers and it is usually over subscribed, and should be a good week for Dover the walk is the Cinque Ports Walk.
