    Diana - in fact I do usually use Brandy in my Christmas Cakes.

    When making mince pies I always buy Robertson's mincemeat and to it add chopped glace cherries, and a good helping of Brandy, adding extra raisins if too sloppy. Have done this for years, and they always taste good.

    Have just made 8 lbs sweet pear chutney, with leeks, tomatoes, butternut squash, the house smells good !!
