  Millions were lost in that farce - I know of one local surveyor that spent thousands getting qualified to find the rug had been pulled. Companies in London were being sold for millions and many were lead astray by the adverts offering a new career as a surveyor after 10 weeks training.
  
  We never did any but have seen such rubbish reports by others and was told specifically that it was a Government tick box requirement for the eu. Nowadays we get regular enquiries from a national company to do energy surveys for £35 a time over Kent - and it just cant be done for that price. So who are doing them? Its a scandal still being perpetrated.
