Lydden race track
- 14 June 2012 08:39178016This weekend at the Lydden race track there is truck raceing on this is a first as far as i know so it sould be a good weekend for you truck fan,s out there ticket,s cost £12 a day or £20 for the weekend and if you what to camp out in your tent it is £5 per night I will be there

I used to go to Lydden regularly a few years ago, mainly when rallycross was on. - 15 June 2012 06:29178181Hope you enjoy your truck racing Ted, I was at several truck racing events back in the 70's and 80's at Brands Hatch..to say it looks alarming is an understatement!! Cripes!! I knew that Steve Parrish geezer way back then as we worked in the motor racing business..mostly motor cycles..Parrish and Sheene were team mates Suzuki GB etc etc.
He then did truck racing in a big way and is now a BBC commentator. The guy gets about. Nice guy though.

They were awesome especially in the rain. In the early days of rally cross it would take what seemed to be hours to leave the track after a day's racing. I'm sure my petrolhead husband has never regretted meeting someone who lived that close to a racetrack!

I'm a great fan of Valentino Rossi and follow his progress all the time, I must admit that his Dad was the one I followed in the good old days, the one and only Graziano. PaulB I'm sure still has the photos of me with Valentino's Dad at Silverstone in the days when we photographed the events. I remember seeing little Valentino as a child in the pit area.

Theres are real chance a Brit (Cal Crutchlow) could win a race this year and what better place than your home GP.

Think he is part of a consortium. Lydden: birthplace of rallycross.

I had a great day at Silverstone. A Brit, Scott Redding on the podium in Moto2 and Cal Crutchlow finishing 6th from the back
of the grid, even with a broken and dislocated ankle. Plenty for the British crowd to cheer.
