Do those who cause the latest troubles in Northern Ireland really know what the word Loyal means?. They call themselves Loyalists yet they can not have peaceful protest, they do not care who the injure or what property they ruin and now they are back to trying to kill police officers doing their job. Will they ever have true peace I doubt it all the while the past always means more then the future.
Then there is the Union flag they protest about being flown on City Hall, Belfast yet they appear not to be aware it has a right way to hang as they often display it upside down while parading it around.
"When you solve the Irish problem the Irish will find another problem" Never a truer quote..

If your child misbehaves you may thump it. This may bring about a change in their behaviour, but it will also teach them how to deal with what they regard as errant behaviour in the future...and so it goes on.
The chain of such mal-discipline can be broken, mainly through a reduction in positive reinforcement. This does take time, and time is a fairly elastic quantity, but while those who have had encouragement in the past struggle to pass on their aberrant wisdom they shall discover that only those with criminal intent will heed their call. This can only mean, in the short to middle term, that violence will increase before it dies out.
It is a bit like a saucer spinning on the table, as it comes to rest there is a crescendo...then all is still.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
