  Mr Vic, my answer to your post 8 is, alas, I don't know. I do think respect for the law and police begins in schools probably and homes certainly - I know exactly what my parents would have made of me not doing as instructed by a police officer. Their attitude compares with cases we have seen locally and nationally of motorists playing 'chicken' or worse with officers on foot. As for the retired solicitor who thought the A20 40mph speed restriction signs did not apply and so carried on at a higher speed, well, what kind of example does that set?
