I know loads of people, me included, who've had a sore throat that develops into a cough which according to the docs will usually take 6-8 weeks to clear up - I'm just entering week 6.
Maybe it's throat flu.

i have heard people complaining about bugs they have picked up but don't know of anyone actually laid up.
a real bonus for our over-stretched hospitals.
