Something doesn't ring true here, if there were 9 traffickers on board there must have been a lot more that have paid for the crossing on there and speed boats are not that big.

I would guess that actually a vast number of people are “serious” about the situation Keith, but unfortunately none in the government or opposition.
No surprises there of course, but one of the reasons that the so called far right parties are beginning to get a foothold across Europe and will continue to do so.

Don’t know why that headline describes them as “asylum seekers”, they’re nothing of the sort are they? Just simply economic migrants chancing their arm I would have thought.

If they are Christians or Zoroastrians from Iran they will have a valid claim for asylum in the UK as those minorities are routinely persecuted there, as are homosexuals. Or France. Or almost any country they will have passed through for that matter.

Bloody hell, once that free pass gem of information gets round there may well be a sudden surge of gay Iranian Christians enroute from Iran, fighting for a place in the dingy no doubt with the 25 year old bearded children.
Just saying!

Figures obtained under FOI rules reportedly show that over 34,100 suspected illegal immigrants were apprehended at ports & airports last year, 3% more than the year before.'Most were caught using carbon dioxide detectors, heartbeat monitors & sniffer dogs'
