Ring on the door bell and there must have been 15 young ones standing there all dressed up they all came in wife had got lots of sweets and also she had candles outside the house all alight .well done.
Good for you & Mrs Vic, personally I can't abide this American nonsense, prefer our own tradition of Guy Fawkes and Bonfire night. Fawkes seems to be virtually ignored by the youngsters these days.
I am an old grump when it comes to Halloween, I have no time for it at all, it is now imported American rubbish..

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

They love to dress up and we like to see them you are only young once and for groups like the E,K.R.T it helps a lot with their funds, it is one of the few weekends that the trains are full each day great fun but the main thing is the money that comes in and keeps the railway on track.
Me too Jan, totally agree with you. I think it's dangerous too these days - who knows who will answer the door to children. As for inviting them into your house - are you mad Vic? Good grief man - have you no sense?
As Jan and Sue said - it's just American rubbish anyway
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".
As said American Rubbish. It,s OK when you have little ones with Mum or Dad standing at the Gate. But when you have bigger Kids it just takes the P**s. Love you photo Howard. Spot on.
They were all my own family and their mates and we love what we do and will carry on doing it, years ago I would light up all the front garden so the old folks living in the home next door could see them from the windows and at Christmas to.I think some you need to find a fun head from some where. Because some of us are getting old does not mean siting in a chair and looking at the TV. Act young and you will be young. And my wife put a wig on and joined in the fun of it I think she looks better in a red wig and have told her to wear it all the time.
Mr Barrington Guy Fawkes night is also a very good time for all the family and great to get around a bonfire my cat does not like it so we keep him in.We have 13 grandchildren from the ages of 9 to 25 and one great grandson at about 4years old most called on us lastnight but must say they do not like fireworks close up, because fireworks cost alot and are much bigger then they were, best to take them along to a firework event .
I think Vic you should have said straight away in your post it was family ,My Granddaughter went to the event at Crabble Mill ,dressed as a witch .The trustees put on a less scary event for the younger children .Its the trick and treat which should not be encouraged.
We are not grumpy just donot want to answer our doors late at night.
Don't confuse Christmas with trick and treating.
We have far too many around here.As the gate shuts theres another lot waiting to call, its as bad as that.I,m not a complete misery and i wouldnt mind if it was just a few groups of kids.Luckily we was out last night so we missed most of them.Last year we had around 30 lots of callers between 5.00 and 7.30.It was easier to just not answer the door.
