What a ludicrous idea hardly a lot of police time spent on it, they simply log it and wait for someone to claim what is theirs.

I do despair at the lack of sevice to the public from the Police, it is a service not a business.

It is only a few years ago that a policeman delivered my daughter's lost purse to our house before she had even missed it!
I think the fact that it is a public service that is part of the problem. Businesses generally know they have to be helpful to their clients and potential clients if they are to survive.
