Lorry parking in residential roads

  Not a problem in Dover but Shepway Council have put up these signs in areas such as Hawkinge and Sellinge that suffer from it. What we don't know is what the penalty for non compliance is and how it would be collected, will there be wardens going around in the middle of the night and if it is successful where the lorries would move the problem to.

  I don't see the logic of Ashford Borough Council in clamping trucks parked overnight in industrial estates, preferable to them blocking residential roads.

  Haven't we been here before? Not helped that companies and Government Departments don't want to pay for depots any more, so our residential road usually has at least a couple of works vans in it overnight and all weekend. Not 7.5 tonners admittedly but they are extremely bloody long. Stretch vans if you like.
  
  Got home just before eight tonight and couldn't get in the road. Not helped by some prat with their Porsche Cayenne Tank taking up three spaces. "Sometimes a car, is just a car", is all I will say to that I think.
