- just been reading up on the chap mentioned above, new boss of the UKIP.
he owns a grouse moor, deer forest, a lake stocked with trout a country pile in the highlands, the list goes on.

the man exudes class, wears plus fours and is a member of whites club.

really makes posh barry look a bit common.

i suppose we shall have to doff our caps to victor in future.

- Does he have a moat to be cleaned? I believe it is now a requirement.

- It would need a man with lots of money to get the word about.

Nothing wrong with lots of money, depends on how you use it.

- Vic is the proud owner of one of those country waxed coats which he wears with much panache. These garments are much preferred by the heigh-ho horsey set in Buckinghamshire..so perhaps thats the main requirement needed to join up with UKIP..throw in a grouse moor or two and most defintely you are leadership material.

Ah just pulling yer leg Vic, but seriously good luck at your conference on wednesday and if you can get a picture of yourself and Lord Pearson we would be delighted to get that on the frontpage here on Doverforum. That would make a good publicity shot for sure.

- Panache....? A sort of pate perhaps? To go with elan and flair, two kinds of quiche.

- looking on the positive side victor, if you do not get elected, lord pearson might need a faithful old retainer.

just play the dodgy knees card and you are away.

- He is also the man who has claimed over £100,000 in expenses (between 2001 & 2007) as a Lord despite having a very swanky flat in London; the first one he claimed as his second home he sold for over £3.5m and then bought another one for £1.2m which he also claimed overnight expenses on, he also has a 12,000 acre estate in Scotland - clearly a man able to relate to the average UKIP voter.

Amusingly given this, he is recorded as having said of the MPs expenses scandal "The scandal exposed a growing gulf between us, the political class and the British people."

- Whites Club is an exclusive gentlemens retreat in London, its name is derived from the original use of the premises 'Mrs Whites Chocolate House' which was all the rage in the 18th century.

- standards have to be maintained bern, if the fairer sex were allowed in, where would it all end?

foreign people, millwall supporters, the mind boggles.

thin end of the wedge and all that.

- Vic many thanks for the invite, not able to come along with you at this time... but at whatever meeting if you get a picture of yourself and the noble lord please get it over to me for frontpage use. Leaders are normally quite prepared to do pictures with local candidates as it makes for good publicity. Good luck with it all Vic. You are adding a bit of excitement to the mix. -
