Has the man lost the plot? This seems like the usual guff to attract voters from a party that is not actually in Government...why was this not possible when the Miliband crew were in power?
I suppose the next stage will be surrogate mothers, nominated by the state, to save hard working wives the grind of having children and all the baggage that comes with having a family.
Just another knock at the banks perhaps to gain a popular vote?

Agreed certainly not properly thought out a little like the fuel freeze idea. I would like to see these election type promises made by all parties become mandatory within six months when elected.
If they really want to help working parents they could target the new parents who have to struggle with a lot lower income while the mother is on maternity leave. It took my grandson and his wife over three years to recover financially and get free of debt mainly because of crippling nursery fees.
