This topic was touched on yesterday but in todays edition of Kent on Line they have headlined with Dover's ' depressing' and the Council agree.
Howard has highlighted the flower bed problem.Vic laboured the point of the loo's being closed, wit Alec pressing hos point about pissing pissheads, others have made puns about pooh, anti social behaviour and poor old Roger rattles on regardless and tirelessly about rundown shops.
These problems are not insurmoutable but solveable. We are not talking about finding a replacement for the worlds oil crisis - let the governments sort that mess out. We're talking aboout making Dover a cleaner, safer and better place to live and work and hopefully attract tourists.
The elections have come and gone so lets see if this new 'broom' sweeps any better than the old one.
Viva la Dover

that's right it is not a question of big money just basic things as you mention.
the toilet situation is still unresolved as far as i know, interestingly macari's in pencester road have recently put a notice in the window saying that their toilets are always locked and the key will only be given to paying customers. no doubt others will follow suit.

We allow non customers to use our toilets provided that:
1. They ask first (good manners and all that)
2. They make a donation into one of our charity boxes.
I think that is reasonable.
We do not advertise the facility.
To date (we have been here 6 years) nobody has used our doorway. I hope I am not tempting providence.

but the town council is run by the reds keith, we keep getting different stories from members of each council about the pissoirs.
can you use your inside knowledge to get the truth from the the two new red district councillors that are also town representatives?
at least i think they are, the town council website still shows the list from 4 years ago.

Mark R: I think the current record for breath-holding in Dover is 35 years: that's how long The Crypt - that enduring symbol of the town's catastrophic decline - has been derelict, isn't it?
