Well it was certainly a night to remember. Started at 1.15am on Sunday morning - waiting to start for over an hour - never did find out why. Perfect weather conditions. Yes Helen it was great cycling through London at night and out to the countryside for sunrise. Normally during the day time ride the route is lined with well wishers who live on the route - this time people came outside from the pubs to cheer us on.

The route was certainly harder than the day time one and no hot food at the pit stops to keep us topped up with energy - I was running on empty towards the end.

Getting to the top of Devils Dyke was an amazing feeling as from there it was just a few short downhill miles to Brighton seafront. David was waiting on the finish line for us (he was the essential back up team - taking bikes to London and collecting us in the morning) and served us champagne on the beach with the best tasting cheese burger ever! I was soooo hungry.

Don't think I will do the night time ride again but I am now looking for another challenge to do next year. Would love to do London to Paris.

Anyway as Helen says it was a way to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
