    Minutes of Meeting Held on 10th October at The Bull Inn, London Road

    Present - R Miller, A Luckett, T Nunn, P Eyden

    1. Xmas Light Switch On
    It was agreed we would run a stall at this event, the stall would feature a workshop making Xmas cards.
    Further it was stressed that both mains power and lighting will be required & the Secretary was asked to communicate this to DTC.
    It was also agree that we would offer two of our folding table for the use of other community groups.

    2. Xmas Window Competition
    It was agreed that we should run this again.
    The Secretary was asked to pt together a press release and the text for an A4 poster, which A Luckett offered to then add artwork to. T Nunn offered to assist with handing the leaflets out to retailers in the area.

    3. Lamp Post Banners
    The Secretary advised that the group had received a grant check from DTC and that the next tasks were to establish the cost of brackets and to agree on the themes for the banners. The Secretary will pursue the former with DTC and asked A Luckett to come up with some ideas for the themes, it was also suggested we should approach C Smith of DAD for ideas. Finally all agreed that this should be something we engage local schools with and AL agreed to undertake this.

    AOB
    a. The publican of the Bull reported a significant dog fouling issue at the corner of London Road & Barton Road - the Secretary agreed to pass this onto the council with a request for urgent action
    b. The current marquee used by LRCF is showing its age and is leaking etc. - the meeting agreed that the Secretary should look to acquire a new heavy duty tent asap
    c. The Meanwhile Space proposals are still live, but await the next MCD Trustees Meeting to make a decision on the offer made, The outcome of this also affects the proposal to approach MCD about painting a mural on the gable end wall of 2-3 London Road.
    d. Finally it was agreed that the LRCF Xmas Party should be held in The SevenSeas Portuguese Restaurant on London Road - the Secretary will follow this up and report back at the AGM

    The next meeting is the Annual General Meeting which will be held on 14th November at 19.30 in the Louis Armstrong PH.
