  I've been watching the progress of turning the old youth hostel into flats, sorry "apartments". I have to say that the builders are doing a damn good job. The corinthian columns in particular have been lovingly restored. You wouldn't know by looking at them that they are in fact made of wood with several sections having been replaced. This is a project that has taken nearly two years. well done.
  
  

  

  
  
  
  On the other hand some of the tenants on the other side of the road still persist in dumping all manner of stuff and expect the council to take it. Not as bad as Gaol Lane though.

  good to hear that about the youth hostel, similar work is taking place on the ancestors building in belgrave road.
  
  the second picture could have been taken anywhere with a minority just happy to have their house or flat clear of rubbish regardless of where they put it.

  I don't get out locally much any more - what is Wize Buys, just down from there? I drive past it in the wee small hours on the way to work and it looks interesting.....probably just the early morning glow fooling me!!

  I am loving London Road at the moment. its seems to be buzzing, lots of businesses getting in down there and making it work.

  There seems to be activity in 66 at the moment. It was White Cliffs Tandoori before they moved to 68. It still has" take away" permission.
