Unlike here most web pages are hidden from the world at large and I do question why. Having been admitted to a few I find that when I try to post something I get "no more comments allowed" and when I look at the thread there is nothing remotely controversial there.

Impossible to give exact figures Ray as I only know of the ones that people suggest that I join, they are usually closed groups so only members can see what the posts. I apply to join and sometimes get accepted sometimes not. Most recently people on one of them were of the view that DDC built St James out of our council tax, when I pointed out that it was Legal and General my membership was rescinded.

I assume you are talking about Facebook Howard.
The whole idea of a closed group is they are like a members club, the admin can choose who is a member if they do not like you or you upset them then out you go. Maybe not always fair but that is the way virtually all clubs operate so understandable.

I don't have a problem with admins choosing who they have as members but hiding all posts from anyone that is not a member is totally wrong. Many a time I have seen libellous statements made and the victim has no recourse because he/she is unaware of it.

That's the nature of a private conversation, I can say libellous things to my friends at home and you still have no recourse because only my friends know what I called you. If you don't like the conversation, leave the said conversation, whats the problem?

I would have thought most people would be made aware of a serious libellous post by a friend or acquaintance who is a member, it is so easy to show comments to others. Good admin should always remove such posts if they are reported to admin, the same goes for swearing which I hated to see even though I swear in private.

That's where the problem lies Howard
Iv had what could be seen as libel and serious comments made on me, my family, all lacking any fact or truth
But it took a long time for these nasty libel comments to be removed
I have accepted people will attack me with little fact. But abuse is I believe 1 step to far
But when it Stretched to my family I act
