There is a lot of locally grown stuff available if you look for it. At present we are growing chard, tomatoes, beetroot, courgettes, parsley, marjoram, etc. in our garden, and very useful and tasty they are too.

Also we have two blueberry plants in large pots, and have had some fruit off them this year as well as last. Lots of local strawberries available and other veg in Sandwich.

It is good to see local licensees using as much local produce as they can find, ie. Crispin at Worth, and Plough & Harrow here at Tilmanstone.

At our one-hour village market twice a month, villagers can bring their surplus to sell, ie. raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot, etc. etc. as well as home made cakes, jams and preserves.

Yes, Bern, the grocers shop near River Village Hall is excellent, Katy has a lovely selection of stuff. and is always very helpful.
