  we are always told to lower our carbon footprint whatever that is by buying stuff grown locally.
  
  not as easy as you would think, strawberries were very early this year but every time i went shopping they came from abroad and when the u.k. stuff hit the shelves most was from the midlands.
  
  lately i have developed a taste for blueberries, these always came from france.
  i assumed that they needed a lot of sun and were probably grown down.by the mediterranian, not so.
  
  today in morrisons i bought some that were grown in poland.
