My actual on Stonehall is 0.25 using this line test from BT Wholesale that I was told to use by a BT engineer when I was complaining a few weeks ago.
I have been following and chasing this when I was a parish councillor for Lydden since the farcical Make Kent Quicker campaign that started 4 years ago. Even taking it to the KCC Cabinet member responsible just got waffle, and the final insult was a few months ago when fibre optic cables were taken through Lydden to Aylesham with no facility for providing an improved service to the village.
The current estimate from the KCC website (you can check plans for your own street here) is that we'll get "standard broadband", though there is no such thing, of 2Mb after the improvements - which were due between July and November but have now been put back to early next year.

- 23 July 2015 12:42284671I remember the promise from KCC Ray, another thing I don't understand is the vast difference between London Rd Temple Ewell and Lewisham Rd River as they are on top of each other, and why is Aycliffe so much slower than the rest of town.

I have just checked and our download speed is 41.35 Mb/s so maybe going with Virgin if possible is the answer.

Simple - the fibre network that serves Dover covers River and just a few parts of Temple Ewell, but other areas only get the telephone cable service which depends on the distance from the Archers Court exchange. - 24 July 2015 11:31284723There is a new fibre box in our road in Eythorne. - 24 July 2015 11:56284725Peter, you've got that service as Eythorne Parish Council applied for a grant for the necessary masts as part of the previous KCC grant scheme for broadband in 2011.
At my first meeting as a parish councillor for Lydden in May that year the parish clerk was going through communications received and told the meeting about that scheme - followed by "Oh, it's too late to apply, the deadline was last month." She's not there any longer.
