Pompous, IDS, never!?
A man that up until very recently had the index page of his website displaying a full figure oil painting of himself. In recent weeks this has been taken off the website along with most of the other content...I really can't think why?
As for fraudulent claim, we cannot forget about IDS' claim that he went to the prestigious Universita Di Perugia! When he didn't. And then of course Dunchurch College of Management, where he claimed to be educated; where in actual fact he merely attended a number of short courses. He would only need to speak to his mate Mr Gove to know that short courses mean nothing and should be long, rigorous and have a final exam.
So when Mr Duncan Smith talks about his hardships, leaching from his impoverished girlfriend (that's right isn't it?) I really can't help taking it with a pinch of salt.
Yes reform is needed, in any such complex system constant reform is needed. Our concern should be how reform effects people and I don't think we will really see the implications immediately. I can't stand the constant scaremongering from the Labour party, but find it equally absurd that the Conservatives seem so complacent that these changes will not have a detrimental effect on anyone. We also have to remember that such Conservative ideology predates our financial crisis...handy that.
Perhaps to get people back to work all we really need to be more creative with their CVs, after all it clearly worked for IDS.
